Our Response Line is the ‘front door’ to our services and provides telephone, webchat and email support to carers contacting our organisation. As part of this team YOU will offer invaluable support, working with unpaid family carers and professionals in West Sussex, demonstrating empathy and skills to guide them through a conversation about their situation and help them recognise their own needs to maintain a healthy wellbeing. When carers contact our Response Line, it may be the very first time they speak about their caring role and YOU will be the first person they entrust this information. The purpose of this role is to offer a listening ear, share any helpful information and guidance, and help unpaid carers plan for the future.

We are offering a rewarding opportunity within our Arun, Worthing and Adur team to provide a range of services which aim to make a difference to family and friend carers. The focus will be on Arun District. This is a one year fixed term contract and you will be required to work Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
Carer Wellbeing Workers provide invaluable services to help improve carers’ resilience and ensure they are supported to maintain their caring roles. They provide tailored information and advice, practical, emotional and planning support, peer opportunities, contingency planning, active listening and through partnership working are pro-active in the identification of carers.
Using experience of working with adults and families, a working knowledge and / or lived experience of social care and health, the postholder will use excellent communication and interpersonal skills to offer carers one-to-one and group support either face to face, via the telephone or using virtual video mediums such as Zoom or MS Teams.
The role is a mix of remote / homeworking and community venues. You will be expected to be readily able to travel across Arun to deliver carer support and on occasion to venues in Worthing and Adur and across the County to attend meetings and training as required.

- Work as part of the Carer Community Team – South which covers 3 Districts across the County of West Sussex. Offer support for and with carers across Arun, Worthing and Adur, with a focus on Arun.
- Provide carers with tailored, personalised information, guidance, emotional and practical support on a wide range of issues based on the principles of trust, respect and dignity.
- Provide a range of local services for carers which includes a blend of in-person, on-line, telephone, 1 to 1 and group opportunities.
